I. Evaporation
Evaporation is the
transformation of water from its liquid for to it's gaseous state. Evaporation
can happen when the liquid is either cold or hot. In the case of water,
evaporation happens more typically when water gets hot. There are studies that
show that 90% of the water that is in our atmosphere comes from evaporation of
water from the earth's lakes, oceans, rivers, etc.

II. Condensation
Condensation is the
process by which water is changed from the vaporous stage in the air to the
liquid water stage.
A. Water condensates from cold liquids, like
soda.
B. Water condensates from plants.
III. Precipitation
Precipitation is the
process that water gets back to the ground via rain, or some frozen version of
it.
A. Frozen

2. Hail
B. Liquid/Rain
IV. Run-Off
This is the process
that water runs across the ground to somewhere. It is often overly simplified
and said that it will runoff to the ocean, but a lot of time it is soaked into
the ground keeping the soil wet.
A. Water runoff down a hill

V. Collection
Collection is the
process of water finding a place to rest until it is evaporated back into the
air. Kind of the part two to run-off.
A. Big lakes as collection
B. Collection in the ocean.

ReplyDeleteExcellent job! It's good you realized that the weather and water cycle doesn't follow steps and processes, it ever changing and it's good you acknowledged that. Your pictures were great and would be helpful for the children to see.

ReplyDeletePeyton has a clear voice that carries and is easy to listen to. She broke down the information where it was easy to understand and taught everyone to consider the topic in a new way. She was a little short on time but had good ideas and content.
