#8 Cyberbulling
http://www.scholastic.com/teachers/article/cyberbullying-what-teachers-and-schools-can-do
This article written by scholastic is about bullying in schools and how teachers can address it. It talks about ways schools can step up to cyber-bullying, how to recognize it, how to get students to report it, how to respond, and how to get parents involved. This is very beneficial because it gives me ways that I could use this in my classroom.
For example, it talks about taking cyber-bullying seriously by addressing it with students before it becomes a problem. Another thing is getting your guidance counselor involved. Also, being in a preventative mindset by recognizing the warning signs. Asking students to report any incident that they may have seen online is also very important, because they have a lot more access to their peers web pages than educators do. Responding to an incident the right way is also important, by getting parents involved and addressing the situation as being completely unacceptable.
